Mohanad Salahat is an independent Palestinian / Swedish filmmaker, researcher, journalist, and writer born in Nablus, West Bank in 1981. He moved to Jordan in 2001, where he studied law, and worked as a journalist and editor with several Arabic newspapers, magazines and Arabic media companies. Mohanad has been working in the film industry in the Middle East and Europe Since 2005.
Most of his films were often screened on Al Jazeera Arabic and Aljazeera World, Al Jazeera Documentary, Swedish National TV (SVT), and at film festivals worldwide. Additonaly he works as a consultant with a number of media companies, organizations, and film festivals.
He is, since the winter of 2021 the founder and director of Sunbird Films in Malmö, Sweden.
Mohanad is currently working on a range of documentary projects which include; a TV-documentary for Al Jazeera where he investigated the gruesome apartheid strategies within food production companies in Israel. Also developing a personal story about his Palestinian families struggle to access water in the village of Talluza where he is from and so much more.

Kassandra Smith

Kassandra Smith is a Swedish / American emerging creative producer and writer with years of solid experience in the marketing and engagement field. She has worked with marketing and communications since 2011 for commercial as well as political and non governmental organizations as; creative director, campaign manager, copywriter as well as digital engagement expert and production- / project-manager.
Kassandra currently works for the Swedish Red cross developing local fundraising strategies as well as being the associate producer and co-owner at Sunbird films in Malmö, Sweden. Last year she was chosen by Boost Hbg to participate in their program for up and coming promising talents in the southern region of Sweden. This year she started off as a the vice president for Doc Lounge Malmö, a well known organization that works with spreading, showing and growing the interest for documentary films in Sweden.
